Our holiday park, right on the banks of the Moruya River, is a superb place to base yourself at when attending one of these fantastic annual events.
~ Start the new year with a bang at the Moruya New Year’s Day Rodeo – an old school style rodeo with a new school feel. Plenty of fun for the whole family including bull rides, novice saddle riding, bareback, poddy calfs, open roping, food stall and refreshments.
~ The Eurobodalla Agricultural Show is held at the Moruya Showground and is a great country-style show with chainsaw competitions and woodchopping, a rodeo, a handmade pavilion, poultry, farm produce, cattle, goats and alpacas, horses, dogs, vintage and veteran vehicles, side show alley, showbags and much, much more!
~ One of the biggest fishing tournaments on the NSW South Coast is the Tollgate Islands Classic at Batemans Bay.
~ Run by the Eurobodalla Shire Council, the Basil Sellers Art Prize features 2D artworks. The winning work is acquired by businessman and philanthropist, Basil Sellers AM and placed in his extensive private collection.
~ The Tuross Head Lake Fishing Tournament is held annually in March, is a catch and release tournament limited to the first 250 entrants and includes over $5000 in prizes.
~ Try for a hole in one at the Autumn Carnival of Golf at the Moruya Golf Club. It’s a two day event for both men and ladies playing 36 holes in total with live entertainment and dinner.
~ Get all dressed up in your finest gear and attend the Easter Cup at Moruya Jockey Club. The racecourse is a picturesque country field with plenty of grassed areas for picnics and small marquees.
~ The River of Art is a multi-award winning festival with live music, visual arts, theatre, film, literature, creative workshops and cultural activities. There are more than 100 events across a range of venues including Durras, Batemans Bay, Mogo, Moruya, Congo, Bodalla, Narooma, Tilba and Bermagui.
~ The Narooma Oyster Festival celebrates the region’s oysters and their growers, their natural clean quality produce, chefs and rich artistic and cultural talents. There are fireworks, live music and food stalls all on the water at Forster’s Bay in Narooma.
~ See incredible blooms at Eurobodalla Orchid Club‘s Winter Show. The club welcomes all orchid growers, beginners to experts, young and old to showcase and admire a variety of beautiful species of orchids. Orchids and accessories for sale, raffles and light refreshments available.
~ A large number of competitors attend the Moruya Town to Surf Fun Run every September to challenge themselves while having fun at the same time. It’s an 8 kilometre run and has a carnival like atmosphere suitable for the entire family.
~ Moruya’s Granite Town Festival is family friendly that’s fun for young and old. Featuring funk and soul music, a dash of reggae, fat beats, local talents, original compositions and good time party pleasing sounds.
~ The Eurobodalla Spring Show is on at the Moruya Showground and has ring events for breeds, hack, ASH classes and time trials, as well as team penning, sporting and showjumping.
